Biography

Sherry is a researcher specialising in mental health, cognitive ageing, and dementia. Her research explores how everyday choices and habits shape brain vascular health, ultimately influencing brain structure and cognitive abilities as we age. Additionally, she investigates the relationship between brain structure and mental health conditions, particularly affective disorders such as depression and anxiety. Using a variety of MRI techniques, including structural MRI, functional MRI, and diffusion tensor imaging, she applies sophisticated statistical and computational methods to uncover the neurofunctional changes associated with psychiatric disorders and age-related cognitive decline. Her research aims to bridge the gap between neuroscience and clinical applications, contributing to a deeper understanding of brain health across the lifespan. Sherry has been the first and co-author of research published in Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews, BMJ, and Alzheimer’s & Dementia. She has also contributed as a peer reviewer for Springer Nature, Frontiers in Psychology, and Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience.
