Open Access Publishing Model

Brain Conflux is committed to advancing scientific knowledge through transparent, accessible, and high-quality open access publishing

Our Commitment to Open Science

All articles accepted and published in Brain Conflux are fully Open Access, ensuring immediate and unrestricted access to cutting-edge research. Our commitment to open science means that all published content is freely available to read, download, and share without barriers, advancing the global exchange of scientific knowledge and promoting research collaboration across institutions and borders.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Standard Publication Fee

Effective January 1, 2025, accepted manuscripts will be subject to an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support the costs of rigorous peer review, editorial services, and technical infrastructure required for high-quality open access publishing.

Standard APC: ¥2,000 RMB per accepted article

This fee covers comprehensive editorial services including peer review coordination, copyediting, typesetting, XML and PDF generation, metadata creation, digital object identifier (DOI) assignment, and long-term digital preservation of published content.

APC Waiver for Experimental Research

Brain Conflux is committed to promoting high-quality experimental research that advances our understanding of life sciences through direct observation and experimentation. Manuscripts presenting original experimental data qualify for a complete waiver of article processing charges.

Qualifying Experimental Research

  • Laboratory-based experimental studies
  • Field research with controlled experimental design
  • Clinical trials and intervention studies
  • Controlled observational studies with experimental components
  • Methodological studies presenting novel experimental techniques

This initiative supports researchers conducting empirical studies and encourages the submission of high-quality experimental work that contributes substantially to scientific knowledge. Waiver eligibility is determined during the editorial review process based on the manuscript's experimental content and methodology.

APC Waiver Application Process

Authors seeking APC waivers should:

  1. Clearly indicate experimental research waiver request during submission
  2. Provide detailed methodology section highlighting experimental components
  3. Include comprehensive data presentation demonstrating experimental findings
  4. Submit supporting documentation if requested by editorial team

Waiver decisions are made by the editorial team based on manuscript content and are communicated to authors along with the final acceptance decision.

Tax Considerations for Publication Charges

The article processing charges quoted above are base prices and do not include applicable taxes. Additional charges may apply based on your jurisdiction and tax status. Authors and institutions are responsible for understanding their local tax obligations related to publication charges.

Tax Identification Requirements

Authors or institutions with VAT, GST, or other sales tax identification numbers must provide this information during the payment process to ensure proper tax calculation and compliance with local and international tax regulations.

Tax Exemption Documentation

Tax-exempt organizations will receive detailed instructions during payment processing regarding the submission of tax exemption certificates or other required documentation. Our billing team will work with exempt organizations to ensure proper documentation and processing.

For questions regarding tax calculations or exemptions, please contact our billing department at billing@brainconflux.com before completing payment processing.
